Restaurierung historischer Eingangstüren in Bern

Restoration of Historic Entrance Doors in Bern

Projekt: Historische türe
Bereich: Holzoberflächen

Historic doors are often exposed to significant weather influences. A professionally restored door not only protects the substance but also contributes significantly to the appearance and long-term preservation of a building's value.

In Bern's Kirchenfeld district, we restored the main entrance doors of four buildings belonging to the Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (BBL), including the doors of the Bernese Mint. The goal was to preserve the existing substance and renew the surfaces using appropriate materials.

Natural, breathable oil systems were used, which revive the wood structure while creating a resilient, water-repellent surface – ideal for heavily used historic outdoor doors.
