Description:
Catoxantha vulgaris can reach a length of about 45 to 60 millimeters. This beautiful and quite common jewel beetle has metallic dark bluish-green wing covers with thick and distinctive black wing ribs and two yellow transverse bands. The sternum of the abdomen is yellow. It bears the wood of Chukrasia velutina and Lagerstroemia speciosa. The life cycle is annual. Adult
hatch in June.

This beetle is found in Thailand, Malaysia, western Indonesia and the Philippines.
